LOG 4/2/24

Today was my second day of classes. First day was just pretty eh, I had one editing class and then worked on coding up this website all day.

Today marks the first time I've had a class with Gram. It was the foundations of cinema class. After that class I went back to my dorm to practice coding in html some more and fucked up when remembering what class I had, so I ended up being 30 minutes late for my math class. All classes so far have just been reviewing the syllabi and there's been no work yet. The math class seems insanely easy, we learned about basic ass percentages and I don't get why I was put in it. I mean I guess I didn't do well enough on the AP exam but cmon seriously.

After that I went to my college's lab to practice sewing for my Spider-Man cosplay, which I feel obligated to make because I feel obligated to go to comic-con this month. And I feel obligated to go to comic-con for an opporunity to see Maya Hawke who is a guest there this year. I was planning on goingc for months, but my enthusiasm died out, until yesterday when I found out she'd be there. She'll be doing autographs and photo ops! Since I'm a beginner at sewing I plan to buy clothes from thrift stores to practice on before getting real fabric to not waste money if I fuck up.

After practicing sewing and realizing on my fourth visit to the lab that you're not supposed to pull fabric and you're supposed to have the presser foot down(by the way that shit makes so much more sense and was much easier), I went to my dorm and fell asleep. Well, I guess a better way to describe it was laying down relaxed with eyes close and kinda meditating. I had flashbacks to my depressing junior year and mainly the girl I was infatuated with back then.

After that I woke up and went to dinner with Gram, and these other 2 guys Liam and Rohan. Rohan always talks about how hard it is to be a CS major and because I code I was able to hold that conversation. Then Liam and Rohan came to me and Gram's room and I showed Rohan my coding projects and he seemed surprised and very impressed, it was funny because he said "oh you CODE." which made it sound like he didn't really believe me when I said I was a coder in the past. I showed him a handful of games and websites I made.

So yeah. I'd say mood today was a 6/10.
